Other North Devon Waterways

There are other sections of canal or canalised river in north Devon. James Green, the engineer of the Rolle Canal, was also responsible for the Bude Canal, a network of mainly tub-boat waterways, part of which was in north Devon.

Another James Green project involved land reclamation and the straightening of the river Caen from the river Taw to Velator Quay near Braunton.

Please note that many features of the Canal are on private land and permission should be obtained before exploring these parts.
